Dr. Sarah Whang Ro is a Board Certified Family Physician who received her MD degree from Loma Linda University and completed her Family Medicine Residency and Faculty Development Fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles in 1995. Dr. Ro has served on faculty at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and at Duke University School of Medicine, teaching residents and medical students.

Dr. Ro has been a Chapel Hill resident since 1998. She is married with three children, and has been an active volunteer in local public schools and her community.

Family Medicine Appointments

Dr. Ro provides personalized primary care services to adults and children 12 yrs and older. She will fully evaluate the medical needs of each patient at annual visits, handle acute or chronic needs, consult on lifestyle changes, and refer to specialists as needed.

Her practice focuses on:
1) working in partnership with her patients;
2) prevention of illness following the latest evidence-based clinical guidelines;
3) managing chronic illnesses using evidence based medicine;
4) partnering with her patients' specialists to provide patient-centered comprehensive multidisciplinary care to her patients;
5) serving as a health care advocate for patients navigating through the complexity of our current health care system.
