Louise Metz, MD

Chapel Hill Primary Care

Dr. Louise Metz is a Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician. She attended medical school at the UNC School of Medicine, and completed her residency at the University of California at San Francisco in Internal Medicine. She has significant experience in primary care, hospital medicine, and medical student and resident education. She has served on the faculty at NYU School of Medicine and Duke University School of Medicine.

Primary Care Appointments

Dr. Metz provides comprehensive primary care, including preventive medicine, management of chronic illnesses, and evaluation of acute problems. She specializes in women’s health, eating disorders, and chronic medical conditions, including hypertension and diabetes. She practices evidence-based medicine, and offers a holistic, patient-centered approach to medical care. She also provides multidisciplinary care for her patients by collaborating closely with other providers.

Insurance and Appointment Fees

In network for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Duke Select and Duke Basic.

Patients with other insurance plans need to pay in full but the Center will file the insurance claim on patients' behalf. Any labs done onsite can be billed directly to any insurance company through LabCorp.

Cash payers: $150 for an initial 30 minute appointment. $120 for most follow-up appointments.
